I have been teaching in a brick and mortar school for 10 years and have been working with children for 20 years.  I have taught all grades kindergarten through sixth grade.  I can easily differentiate to reach my students on their needs.

There is a possibility based on class dynamics that projects may need to be completed after class and uploaded or shared the next time class occurs.  

Learners may have projects throughout the course (science fair, economy unit, etc) they may require outside time to complete. 

I will also post weekly assignments for students to complete on their own time that will review concepts that have been discussed in class.

Assessments Offered
For learners that come back week to week I will send an update on how learners are doing once a month.  For learners that are only able to attend a couple times please contact me prior to class if you want a review on how your learner does in class.  I am happy to provide one if contacted prior to class.
Grades Offered
I would be happy to assign grades based on participation and completion of work in class.  Please reach out if you would like a grade for your learner.  

This class will be utilizing hands-on, paper based, slides, and interactive activities during class to reach all student's learning styles. 

Learners should be at a 5th or 6th grade level in science for this course. 

I will be using the common core curriculum to develop engaging, grade-level materials.  All materials will be listed before class for you to gather or print off.  I will be utilizing teacher-created worksheets and activities during class as well.  I will also post additional materials from time to time such as flash cards for you to print and your learner to continue to practice at home as well as having access to the videos.  
Information will come from reputable websites such as ducksters.com which is a website for kids and National Geographic, as well as textbooks that I have used in the past.  We will also be using reputable websites to find information as well as textbooks that I have used in the past through my school jobs.  All information will be accurate with what happened, not the glorified version that is found in textbooks.   A lot of that information is inaccurate and I will be using information that is culturally responsible as well as activities that do not negatively reflect a group of people.  Multiple sides of the events will be used to develop slides and activities with information from multiple perspectives.  In addition to culturally appropriate books I will also be sighting sources from various scholars such as research papers from colleges.
