US Grade 3 - 6
In this on-going class we will spend 52 weeks writing poetry. Learners will have a full notebook of creative poetry by the end of the year! Students often fill stress or restriction when it comes to writing due to topic requirements, format expectations, and specific assignments given. This class is created to get rid of that stigma and spark creativity, enjoyment, and inspiration with writing. Each week we will learn different poetry writing tips, be given a poetry prompt, write, & share! Students can sign up or leave as needed. This class is built to be stress free and encourage students to get their thoughts and ideas on paper & widen their knowledge with poetry writing. Each class will be set up going over the selected poem type (see below schedule), given multiple examples, and I will provide guidance to writing their own. This class will follow a modeled instruction of "I do, we do, you do." This class is a fun time for students to learn about different types of poetry, use their creativity, and share.
