50 Minutes to Get It Done- Middle School Homeroom
Class experience
This is not your average homeroom class. In this fast-paced and results-oriented class, we will begin our day through the planning and execution of small habits that make a huge difference in our productivity and attitude. Have a lot to do? Are you trying to manage schoolwork, sports, music, friends, and chores? This class will begin much the same every week with a thought-provoking discussion question that we will discuss and then write about in our journal. Then we will do 3-5 challenges...
Learners are going to work together to encourage and support one another in goal setting, organizing, planning, cleaning, and creating healthy habits for now and the future while having fun interacting and participating in challenges each week.
As a band director for ten years, teaching in the public school setting as well as teaching individual private lessons, I have gained a varied skill set and a love of all things music and band, especially middle school-age students. I graduated in 2000 from the University of North Texas and have had many years of professional development and practice as both an assistant band director and head band director in the public school setting. I had the opportunity to work with many middle schoolers in an advisory/home-room class situation and enjoy encouraging discussion and spurring middle schoolers into action and building habits. I have since left teaching to pursue teaching as a homeschool educator of my own children. As a YouTube content creator, I have learned how to create and edit videos and create videos based on a variety of classes.
