In our tutoring sessions, students will delve into my AP Music Theory Course to prepare for the AP Music Theory Exam. Students will be assessed for current comprehension of topics, and lessons will be individualized to meet learner's needs.
Class experience
US Grade 9 - 12
Our classes will be based on the two main sections of the AP Music Theory Exam. These two main sections include the nine different FRQs on the AP Music Theory Exam and multiple choice questions. Students will work on dictation, aural skills, part writing; best practices for each FRQ, and multiple choice questions.
Students will also learn how to take the AP Music Theory Exam and the content that is covered within the exam.
Dr. Stutzmann had 27 students earn 5 Stars on the AP Music Theory Exam in 2023! She is AP CollegeBoard Certified Music Theory Instructor and college music / high school music educator, and has tutored over 2000 hours in AP Music Theory.
Students should have a minimum of 1 year of music lessons or musical background. Students should be familiar with note reading and rhythmic reading, and have a knowledge of major scales.
