I am a home educator with over 13 years of teaching experience with ages preschool to 12th grade. Specifically, I have taught multiple years of Middle School and High School English (including composition, literature, and grammar). Currently, I teach an intermediate and an advanced high school level composition/literature course at our area homeschool cooperative. It is my belief that even the most reluctant writers can be unlocked with the right guidance and prompting. I have a college sophomore on the autism spectrum and a high school senior with ADHD. Teaching them has provided me with the unique insight of how to teach children, with difficulties, to express themselves.
Put together all the elements in the 5 paragraph essay format. Edit/Review and submit final essay for teacher feedback. Homework should be submitted to the teacher tab within 1 week of close of class to receive teacher feedback.
Supply List: *Pencil and paper for class *Before the 1st class, please introduce yourself, tell me where you live, and tell me something about yourself. See, I got you writing already!
Suggestions for improved grammar, clearer ideas, or additional details will be provided as needed.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
All ages and abilities are welcome in this course. However, please be advised that some children will need parental support in regards to attention during class time, reading the instructions, and/or writing (as needed). Students will be required to post their writing pieces in the classroom for teacher feedback 48 hours prior to the next class.
