US Grade 4 - 5
This class provides a comprehensive math assessment for 4th or 5th-grade students to evaluate their understanding of key math concepts. Parents will receive a detailed report highlighting their child’s strengths, areas for growth, and helpful tips for improvement. The assessment will cover topics aligned to Common Core and Tennessee standards, including: Fractions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing) Decimals (place value, addition, subtraction, and word problems) Geometry (angles, shapes, area, and perimeter) Measurement and Data (interpreting graphs, units of measure) Operations and Algebraic Thinking (patterns, multi-step problems, and expressions) Class Structure: Introduction: Brief overview of the assessment and what to expect. Assessment: Students will take a timed math test with clear, step-by-step instructions. Wrap-Up: Students can ask any final questions, and I’ll explain how parents will receive their child’s report. After Class: Parents will receive a detailed performance report within 72 hours. The test will be delivered in a calm, supportive, and low-pressure environment, ensuring students feel confident and comfortable while completing their work. I will guide them through the instructions, ensure they understand the expectations, and encourage them to do their best. I am a patient, encouraging, and clear educator who believes in helping students feel successful and capable. I use a structured, organized approach to ensure students know what to expect and can focus on showing their knowledge without stress. Students will interact with me at the beginning of class for instructions and again at the end for questions or clarification. During the assessment, I’ll quietly monitor their progress, offering support if needed to ensure they stay on task. This class is designed to mimic real test-taking conditions so students can build confidence and parents can gain valuable insight into their child’s math abilities.

Pre-Requisites
This test covers the entire grade's standards. It will be the most accurate predictor of success on standardized assessments in the 3rd-4th quarter of the school year. However, taking it early will allow more time to practice weaker areas!

I am an experienced, certified educator, having taught both 4th and 5th-grade students for several years. I hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and have been actively involved in assessment and data analysis throughout my career. I specialize in math instruction and have taught comprehensive math curricula aligned with both Tennessee state standards, which are very similar to the Common Core Standards that many states use.
Throughout my career, I have focused on helping students build strong foundational skills in math, with an emphasis on problem-solving, critical thinking, and real-world application of math concepts. I am passionate about making math accessible and engaging for all learners, creating an environment where students feel confident and supported.
