This is a 4th Grade Math class focusing on measurement skills. Students should be proficient, possessing prior knowledge on the measurement topics. This class will meet twice a week. Students will learn the relevant math skills required of a 4th grader. Week 1: Customary Unit conversions Week 2: Metric Unit conversions Week 3: Perimeter and Area with Rectangles Week 4: Counting money with values greater than $1 Week 5: Plotting and interpreting points in the 1st quadrant of a coordinate plane Week 6: Review Customary and Metric Unit conversions Week 7: Review Perimeter & Area, and Money Week 8: Review points in the 1st quadrant coordinate plane
Homework Offered
Optional homework will be posted to the Outschool Classroom once a week. I will post the assignments and the answers keys so you can check your work. Please feel free to message me on Outschool Messages at any time with questions about the optional homework or any topics we cover in class so that you don’t fall behind. The optional homework will be in the form of a PDF. I will provide you with a link to a shared Google Drive folder where all the homework assignments and answer keys will be uploaded to.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Checks for understanding will be used throughout a class. I will ask everyone to participate. This is not a graded class but the optional homework is highly recommended to become proficient in the topics learned in class.Grades Offered

Classkick will be used in class so students can work out problems on the screen and only I (the teacher) can see their work. There is no account necessary. To sign on, I will provide a link at the beginning of class and you would click on the link and put students first name and you will be able to log in without any account. To be Coppa Compliant, you will only be able to access Classkick lessons during class time. Once class ends, you will no longer be able to access the lesson. I will provide you with a link to a shared Google Drive folder where all the homework assignments and answer keys will be uploaded to. Sometimes, we will use Kahoot or Blooket to play games on the topic we are doing in class (if time permits). You will not need to sign up for an account with Kahoot or Blooket.
We will be using Classkick.com website for class. I will also post the answers to the class work we do in class at the end of the week in the Outschool Classroom. Optional homework assignments, homework answer keys and materials from classwork will be posted as a PDF in the Outschool Classroom once a week. It will be posted via a link to a shared Google drive folder.
