Class Experience
In this ongoing course, students will meet twice a week for 45 minutes to review 4th grade math skills based on Common Core standards. This class can serve as a valuable homeschool aid, remote learning supplement, or review for students. Throughout the course, we will cover a range of important mathematical skills, organized by weekly topics: Week of August 7: Decimal place value (comparing decimals, ordering decimals, placing decimals on a number line) Week of August 14: Adding and...
In this course, students will learn a variety of essential 4th grade math skills and strategies that are applicable at their grade level. Through engaging lessons and practice, students will develop the confidence and proficiency to solve 4th grade math problems effectively.
With 6 years of hands-on teaching experience and the talent to effectively inspire students to engage in the learning process and embrace challenges, I am confident in my ability to increase your child's math confidence. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching specializing in Reading and Language Arts, a Bachelor’s Degree in Education specializing in Integrated Sciences, and hold elementary teaching credentials for Michigan, Illinois, and Colorado. I have taught for a total of 6 years in a traditional Brick and Mortar classroom. I also have years of experience teaching online.
For homework students have the option of completing additional practice problems.
Students should come prepared with a notebook for scratch paper and a pencil.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will be informally assessed throughout the lesson. I will tailor my instruction to meet the needs of my students.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
