This course will run for 19 weeks, from January 10th through the week of May 23rd.  This a private course created by request, specifically for the student.

In this twice weekly class, the complete 4th grade Common Core Math standards will be covered.  Students will be met with a patient, kind, warm and seasoned math teacher, 2 times per week for 45 minutes each class meeting.  Class will be interactive, and students will be encouraged to participate during class.  Students will be provided weekly assignments and there will be a quiz after the completion of each unit to evaluate student mastery and provide feedback on areas for continued focus.  

My teaching style is activation through a real-world problem or a hands on activity.  I also utilize the gradual release method, (I do, we do, you do).  In my years of teaching experience, I have found that students are all unique, and each class is unique.  My goal is to make learning fun and engaging.  I adapt the classroom and instruction to the needs of the students so that they can feel confident and are successful in math class and the learning goal is met.  I love teaching, and after 10 years in a brick and mortar setting, I am thrilled to be an Outschool teacher, and love the flexibility it offers to my students and the classroom design.

Here's what students are learning in this course:
Quarter 1 - Topics already covered - Place value, multi-digit addition and subtraction, unit conversions
Quarter 2 - Multi-digit Multiplication and Long Division (Ends 12/30)
Quarter 3 - Starts 1/3 - Angles, figures, and lines, fraction: equivalence, ordering, and operations
Quarter 4 - Starts 3/21 - Decimal fractions, measurement with multiplication
