I have a Bachelors and Masters in Kinesiology/Teaching. I have worked in the K-5 classroom helping students learn material in Math, Science, Social Studies, and Reading. I have also helped tutor students after school in math.Class Experience

This class aligns with the VA SOL's 3.4 The student will a) represent multiplication and division through 10 × 10, using a variety of approaches and models; b) create and solve single-step practical problems that involve multiplication and division through 10 x 10; and c) demonstrate fluency with multiplication facts of 0, 1, 2, 5, and 10; and 8 d) solve single-step practical problems involving multiplication of whole numbers, where one factor is 99 or less and the second factor is 5 or less. What will be taught - Multiplication - Practice multiplication for fluency - How to solve single step multiplication problems Class Structure: - We will begin class with a math question - We will go over the lesson (usually in google slide form however games and activities will be embedded within) - After the lesson students will have the opportunity to practice. We will have guided practice where we do some questions together and then independent questions that students will work on by themselves before going over them as a class. This may be in the form of worksheets or games. - Wrap up and log off. Interactions: Each student will get the opportunity to answer or ask questions throughout the class. No prior knowledge is required, however basic knowledge of some multiplication is recommended. Content Week 1: Multiplication 0-5's (week of 2/6) - Lesson on multiplying - Games/Worksheets/Practice on multiplication 0-5's Week 2: Multiplication 6-10 (week of 2/13) - Review - Lesson on multiplying - Games/Worksheets/Practice on multiplying 6-10's Week 3: Multiplication 0-10's (week of 2/20) - Review - Games/worksheets/practice on multiplication 0-10's Week 4: Multiplication Word Problems (week of 2/27) - Review all previous material - Lesson on how to solve a word problem - Games/worksheets/practice on multiplying and word problems involving multiplication Week 5: Single Step 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication (week of 3/6) - Review - Lesson on how to solve single step 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication problems - Games/worksheets/practice on multiplying 2 digit by 1 digit problems Week 6: Review & Practice - Review and practice all items learned

I will be using kahoot to play reinforcement games. Google slides will be used to present material and contain worksheets and other materials the student will be using in class.
