I have taught third grade for over five years, and I love math, especially. In this fun, eight-week flex class, students are given personalized attention and instruction as they learn and master third grade math skills. In each class, students will learn a new skill, such as multiplication with two digits. This lesson will be posted very clearly on the classroom wall, and students are encouraged to complete and submit the work given to them, such as a worksheet or project. In all my classes, as well, each student is also encouraged to ask questions and contribute to each class. A short homework assignment is also given each week. COMPLETE CURRICULUM ---------------------------- Week 1 - Review: addition and subtraction with two and three digits (example: 55+666) Week 2 - Multiplication with one and two digits (example: 45 x 21) Week 3 - Elapsed time concepts with word problems Week 4 - Money basics with word problems (currency, change) Week 5 - Fractions basics with word problems (example: 1/4, 2/4, etc) Week 6 - Area and perimeter: basics with word problems Weeks 7 & 8 - Review weeks with fun projects (student choice) - prizes for participation will be given to each student!
