What will be taught?: This class teaches a full year’s curriculum of Math, English including; reading, writing, grammar/phonics and spelling; Science, including hands-on experiments and Social studies including civics for 3rd grade on a flexible schedule. No live meetings will take place but lots of fun, hands-on videos will be posted to complete at your leisure. Week 1Lesson 1Spelling and EconomicsWe will go over the weekly spelling words and learn about the concept of supply and demand.Lesson 2Math 1 and WritingWe will learn how to round numbers to the nearest 10 and 100. We will also write a paragraph about our favorite characters.Lesson 3Math 2We will practice rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and 100.Lesson 4Science and GrammarWe will learn about our solar system and discuss different parts of speech.Week 2Lesson 5Spelling and CivicsWe will go over the weekly spelling words and learn about neighborhoods and communities.Lesson 6Reading and GrammarWe will read and discuss a historical fiction story and learn about sentence structure.Lesson 7Science and Math 1We will be discussing and exploring animal adaptations and then we will learn how to add numbers within 100 with regrouping.Lesson 8Math 2We will learn how to subtract numbers within 100 with regrouping.Week 3Lesson 9Spelling 1 and ReadingWe will go over the weekly spelling words. Then we will read and discuss a poem.Lesson 10Math 1 and GeographyWe will work with multiples of 10 to learn about multiplication. Then we will learn how to read and use maps.Lesson 11Math 2 and ScienceWe will continue working with multiples of ten. Then we will discuss how scientist classify animals.Lesson 12Writing and Spelling 2We will write funny paragraphs and review the weekly spelling words.Week 4Lesson 13Spelling 1, Math 1, and GrammarWe will go over the weekly spelling words, practice basic multiplication, and discuss parts of speech.Lesson 14Reading and Science 1We will read and discuss a short story. Then we will learn about the inner planets of the solar system.Lesson 15Science 2 and EconomicsWe will continue our learning about the inner planets of our solar system. Then we will learn about supply and demand in economics.Lesson 16Math 2 and Spelling 2We will practice basic multiplication and then we will review the weekly spelling words.Week 5Lesson 17Spelling 1 and Writing 1We will go over the weekly spelling words and then write factual paragraphs in writing.Lesson 18Writing 2, Grammar, and EconomicsWe will continue working on our factual paragraphs in writing. Then we will learn about regular and irregular nouns in grammar and goods and services in economics.Lesson 19Science and Math 1We will learn about different animal habitats that we can find around the world. Then we will practice the 6 and 7 multiplication facts.Lesson 20Math 2 and Spelling 2We will practice the multiplication facts through 12. Then we will review the weekly spelling words.Week 6Lesson 21Spelling 1, Reading, and GrammarWe will go over the weekly spelling words, read and discuss a fairy tale, and learn about adverbs.Lesson 22Math 1 and CivicsWe will work with number patterns in math and learn about government in civics.Lesson 23Math 2 and Science 1We will be comparing numbers in math and learning about biomes in science.Lesson 24Science 2We will be creating our own biomes.Week 7Lesson 25Spelling 1, Reading, and WritingWe will go over the weekly spelling words, read a biography, and write poems.Lesson 26Math 1 and GeographyWe will create a paper clock and practice telling time to the nearest minute. Then we will explore the seven continents through animals.Lesson 27Math 2 and Science 1We will practice telling time to the nearest minute. Then we will begin learning about the outer planets of our solar system.Lesson 28Science 2 and Spelling 2We will continue our learning about the outer planets of our solar system and then we will review the weekly spelling words.Week 8Lesson 29Math 1, Science, and Spelling 1We will discuss standard and nonstandard units of measurement and practice measuring objects. Then learn about three laws of motion in science. After that we will go over the weekly spelling words.Lesson 30Math 2 and GrammarWe will discuss the different units of measurement for volume, mass, length, and temperature. Then we will learn about dependent and independent clauses in sentences.Lesson 31Writing and Civics 1We will be writing about our emotions. Then we will learn about the branches of the US government.Lesson 32Civics 2 and SpellingWe will continue learning about the branches of the US government and their jobs. Then we will review the weekly spelling words.
Children will learn the foundations they need within the 3rd grade (Part 1) curriculum using hands-on and child-led learning styles on a flexible schedule watching pre-recorded lessons.

Homework Offered
Learners will be set tasks and activities to complete in their own time. Any activity turned in will be given feedback by your teacher.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
