In this one-time class, students will learn about fireworks. They will learn about the three components of combustion. They will learn about different heat sources. They will learn about the need for oxygen in this reaction. They will also learn about various types of fuel. Through a "show-like" presentation of experiments, They will also learn how fireworks are created to be specific colors. They will learn about metal salts and how they can be used to create different colors in fireworks. This is NOT a hands-on science lab.

My name is Shelby Landreth. I have been in the education field for many years. I was an education specialist at a local science museum teaching home school programs, school programs, and camps of many kinds. I also have experience teaching children with special needs. I have worked with these children in a school setting as well as a clinic setting providing ABA therapy. I also own the organization Creative Minds Learning Center LLC that also hosts classes here on Outschool. If there is a class of mine that you do not currently see available or if the class is sold out you may want to check to see if I have another teacher offering the class there.
I believe that there is no reason that education and life skills cannot be fun since it is an essential part of our daily lives.
