2nd/3rd Second Third Grade Math Concepts Using Math U See Gamma Curriculum

Math-U-See is a complete, skill-based, multi-sensory mastery curriculum for grades K-12. Designed to teach students specific skills in a definite, logical sequence, this systematic and cumulative approach will help students learn how to solve math problems and discover why they're solved in such a way.

This class in taught in a ongoing class format, which means that each week will feature a new topic. Topics will not build upon another. It is possible to enroll in the class and take only the topics you choose or to take the entire class. 

Schedule is as follows:

4/19 - Lesson 1 - Rectangles, Factors, and Products

4/26 - Lesson 2 -Multiply by 0 and 1, commutative property

5/3 - Lesson 3 - Skip count by 2, 5, and 10

5/10 - Lesson 4 - Multiply by 2, 1 quart = 2 pints

5/17 - Lesson 5 - Multiply by 10, 10 cents = 1 dime

5/24 - Lesson 6 - Multiply by 5, 5 cents = 1 nickel

5/31 - Lesson 7 - Area of a rectangle and square

6/7 - Lesson 8 - Solve for the unknown 

6/14 - Lesson 9 - Skip count by 9, equivalent fractions

6/21 - Lesson 10 - Multiply by 9

6/28 - Lesson 11 - Skip count by 3

7/5 -   Lesson 12 - Multiply by 3,  3 feet = 1 yard

7/12 - Lesson 13 - skip count by 6, equivalent fractions

7/19 - Lesson 14 - Multiply by 6 

More dates will be added.

This class is taught in an interactive way with a lot of time for student interaction, questions, and participation. Children will not be muted unless background noise is causing a disruption or the child is disrupting the class after multiple warnings. I feel it is important for children to feel as though their participation matters in the their education.
