2:1 One Time Writing/Language Arts Support & Tutoring for Skill and Confidence
What's included
1 live meeting
55 mins in-class hoursHomework
1 hour per week. Sometimes students may be tasked with completing a writing experience from class so that we can work on it together in the following class. These tasks may include brainstorming, editing, coming up with a strong opening or closing sentence, adding details, or other activities deemed beneficial for your unique student. Students may also submit photos of their work so I may provide feedback.Class Experience
**This Private 2:1 class is perfect for siblings or friends needing simultaneous instruction covering the same skills. This class is appropriate for hesitant students that need extra support and encouragement in creative writing, as well as for exuberant authors wanting to take their writing to the next level. With 2:1 classes, ideal for siblings, tailored to their individual needs, your students will have successful writing experiences, and have purpose for writing. Unleash the author inside your young writer and watch them grow. In this ongoing, weekly class, students will receive 2:1 semi-private tutoring in writing and language arts skills based upon their needs. Parents will communicate the desired focus for our time together, and the ability level of their child, allowing me to meet the students right where they are at, and support them in their creative writing journeys. Classes will be structured around the needs skills, and goals of each individual student with support, encouragement, and engaging experiences. The goal of this class is to help students grow in both ability and confidence, and enjoy the process of writing. Writing is one of the most important tools your student will take with them throughout their lives. A lack of confidence in writing can create reluctance for young writers, and create a serious road block to creative writing. Developing strong writing skills will go a long way to helping your student succeed in many areas of their lives. Not only do I want your student to acquire new skills and techniques, but I also want them to find their own writing voice or style, increase their confidence, and learn to love writing, or at least appreciate it. Once your student has had a few positive experiences with successful writing opportunities, their confidence will skyrocket, and their writing resistance will melt away.

Supply List
Your student will need plenty of writing paper and two sharpened pencils with erasers for each class. It is recommended your student keep a journal (spiral bound or composition style notebook) to work in each class. Sometimes I will provide graphic organizers or other printable activities for your student to use in class that will need to be printed prior to our meeting. I will always link these in the classroom ahead of time, alerting you I have provided supplemental materials. *If your student is more comfortable typing, I am fine with them using a tablet or other device to write during class time as long as the device is used for writing purposes only throughout our session.
