In this 2 x 50 min course we will look at what risk management is and how to write a risk assessment. A risk assessment will help you consider all the possible risks in or at an event or location and the ways you can keep people safe from these risks. We will create a well rounded risk assessment in this class to show how it works. This a formal process for identifying hazards, evaluating and analyzing risks associated with those hazards, then taking action to eliminate the hazards or control the risks that can’t be eliminated to minimize injury and illness potential. During the course of his career as an entrepreneur, performer and traveller, Jo has faced a variety of emergency situations from wilderness survival to first-hand experience of dealing with a fatal car accident which he had to deal with alone and ended up saving lives. He is a highly experienced risk assessor and first aider, with emergency training for fighting fires and advanced first aid for scuba diving.
"I am a trained in advanced first aid for any emergencies. As an extreme sports enthusiast (scuba diving, rock climbing, stilt walking, circus skilled performer who uses fire, sky diver, bungee jumper, etc.) I have always taken it seriously to know what the risks are and prepare for them by making safety and preparation a priority. This is why I have taken many types of first aid and emergency preparation courses depending on the activity I am doing that year. I have also taken and helped teach survival camps to know what to do when lost in the wilderness or in case of a world catastrophe.
I am also professionaly trained to evaluate and create custom risk assessments for any event public event or public situations. (I learned this skill working in the entertainment industry needing to evaluate risks for circus performers at different events and locations.)"
He has taught this class to ages 8-18 yrs old. This is a great introduction class to Risk Management.
