There are so many writers, doctors, politicians, artists, musicians, and civil rights activists who have had a considerable impact on our culture. The more I learn, the more I genuinely appreciate the resiliency and perseverance of the black community in the face of oppression over the years. We will learn about each person, what they invented, and how it impacts the world. Teacher expertise and credentials
Mr. Phil has mentored children over the past 10 years through his nonprofit on diversity and current events and continue to lead open group discussions regarding diversity and inclusion for individuals ages 5-18 as well as adults. He has many years of experience facilitating difficult conversations regarding civil rights and African American History. He has facilitated, created, and organized trainings on diversity and inclusion, anti racism, and holiday specific courses (history of MLK Day, Kwanzaa, Juneteenth, Indigenous Peoples' Day, and Black History Month). In edition utilizing elective courses he has taken though his undergraduate degree (World history, American history, North American Slavery). He also have extensively studied the books/textbooks for the purpose of teaching classes for school aged children.
