Hello! My name is Carly, and I am the founder of ARI Learning.
I’m a proud graduate of the University of Victoria’s School of Child and Youth Care. I have always been passionate about working with children and youth, and this degree program provided me with knowledge of the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young people. When teaching, I use a multidisciplinary approach, focused on relationship building, to support holistic development alongside academic achievement.
As a writing teacher, I would describe myself as someone who values communication skills above all else. I believe that the ability to express oneself clearly and effectively is essential for success in any field. To this end, I incorporate a variety of approaches to help my students improve their writing, speaking, presentation and comprehension skills.
One of the things that sets me apart as a writing teacher is my commitment to supporting neurodivergent learning styles. I recognize that not all students learn in the same way, and I strive to create a classroom environment that is inclusive and accommodating for all students. To this end, I often incorporate special interests and project-based learning into my curriculum. By allowing students to pursue their passions and explore topics that interest them, I find that they are more engaged and motivated to learn.
Ultimately, I would describe my teaching style as supportive, creative, and flexible. I am always looking for new ways to help my students become better communicators, and I am committed to helping them reach their full potential.
As an educator, I am dedicated to providing an inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of all learners. I believe that every student has the right to access quality education that is tailored to their unique abilities and learning styles.
This means creating classrooms that are welcoming, safe, and respectful of all students, in ways that enhance their abilities & neuro-specializations.
