Class Experience

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
**I teach classes with my baby in the room or by wearing baby. Baby may be seen or heard at times during class.**

On day one, I will do a quick assessment to see where your learner stands on identifying his/her letters. If your learner does not know any letters, let me know, and we can skip the assessment. Once I have the assessment, we will work on identifying letters daily. Repetition is great for young learners. I will provide different resources/strategies during our Zoom class to help your learner remember and identify their letters fluently.
Example: Letter J. I may have them look at the letter and repeat it after me. I may jump and have the learner jump with me. I will make the sound /j/, but my main focus will be identification.

On the last day, I will assess again to see what progress your learner made during the week. We can work on a handful a day if they are just learning their letters or focus on those letters your learner finds challenging.

If you would like your learner to have more practice with me, send me a message, and we will set a time.

Hello! Welcome to my learning page! I am so glad you found it and are here!

My name is Mrs. Makenna! I love all things math, phonics, reading and sensory play. I even like some science and geography. I taught in the classroom before I started moving around the country with my husband’s job. We love to travel and explore new places. I have been all over the United States and Central America.

My passion is working with children, and I have missed being in the classroom. However, online teaching has been just as fun! I have had the pleasure of working with some learners for several years and have seen so much growth in them. I can’t wait to watch your learner(s) grow, too.

I believe every learner is unique and can learn at their own pace. Learning is so much better when we are having fun in the process. Let’s have some fun together! See you in the classroom soon!
