US Grade Kindergarten - 5
In this ongoing class, I will provide tutoring for reading and writing. Please let me know ahead of time what your student needs assistance with so I can be prepared with any materials that might help them. My teaching style involves allowing the student to share and talk as much as possible. I encourage students to ask questions. Finally, I like to include fun educational games with my lessons, when possible. Please be sure your student is capable of paying attention and participating for 25 minutes before signing up your student for the class. Your student should also know letter sounds/phonics as this course is intended to help improve their reading skills. They should be able to read basic sentences like, “I see animals.” If you do not see a day or time that works for your child, please message me and I will see if I can open a slot that works for you. Attendance Policy: This class will have a relaxed attendance policy. If you want to cancel for a full refund, you can do so 24 hours in advance of the class. Just message me, and I will refund you for the class.

I will be using 3rd party sites in a screen-share-only format so students do not need accounts for these sights. These sights include: epic.com, abcya.com, education.com, https://www.roomrecess.com/games, and https://www.baamboozle.com/games. All these sights include either reading or educational games.

I am an elementary school counselor with 18 years of experience. I also teach on other online platforms - VIPKID, Cambly, and Zebra English. During my school counseling career, I've taught many topics in classrooms including self-esteem, coping skills, anger management, social skills, and more. I've also had the pleasure of running clubs based on topics of dinosaurs, unicorns, math, writing, and much more! Being able to share my interests with my students is a luxury!
In Outschool, some of the classes I plan on teaching will include topics on dinosaurs, unicorns, self-esteem, mindfulness, relaxation, coping skills, anger management, social skills, K-2nd grade math, and writing. I truly enjoy teaching these topics and look forward to working with your student!
My teaching style is interactive and learner-focused. I often use power points, stories I've written, discussions, and games in my lessons! I believe that teaching should not only help students learn about the topic being taught but that it should also be engaging and fun!
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, playing with my son and our dog, exercising, and traveling. I believe life is meant to be lived and enjoyed to the fullest!Reviews
