In this personalised ongoing class, learners will focus on improving their English skills and confidence. The exact content will be decided upon after consultation with the learner and their parents.
Class experience
US Grade 3 - 5
Class Experience This class will focus on the specific English knowledge and skills required by the individual student, covering the reading and / or writing elements of the curriculum. In reading, the skills covered can include comprehension and inference based activities. Phonic decoding and reading of sight words can also be taught if required. For writing, the areas of focus can include spelling, punctuation and grammar, as well as text structure and composition. Joined handwriting can...
Students will work towards improvements in the skill areas targetted in the tutoring sessions. They will develop greater confidence in their English skills.
Homework Offered
Students will be assigned work to complete between sessions. The work will be focussed on the last session taught and will reinforce the student's understanding of the skill area. This work should be completed independently by the student and submitted at least 24 hours prior to the next session. If you would prefer not to have homework set, please just let me know.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Assessment will be informal and continuous. Current attainment will be taken into account when determining the next learning steps for the student. I am happy to provide specific feedback to parents on request.Grades Offered
At times, there may be some materials for students to print out. They will also need access to writing paper and pens / pencils.
