Welcome to Individualized 1:1 tutoring for Foundational Reading and Math Skills! Throughout our reading time together your learner will focus on strengthening their reading skills. Skills include phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and other skills deemed necessary for success. We will work on these skills in a variety of ways taking a multisensory approach. We will use resources with permission from the University of Florida Literacy Institute, including their new Foundations program, to help foster success and master reading. Throughout our math time together your learner will focus on strengthening their math skills. Skills include number sense, identifying numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, basic geometry, and other skills deemed necessary for success. We will work on these skills by talking about math, learning new math strategies, and playing math games. My goal is to help my learners have flexible math thinking. This is a stress free environment. This class will be highly individualized to meet your learners needs and help them gain confidence in their abilities. The first class will be for assessing your learner and seeing where they need support. Any information you provide on your child's needs will be taken into account.
