US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Welcome! In this class students will learn and review the meaning of proper nouns, common nouns, verbs, and adjectives. This class is great for first grade students and learners who are transitioning to and from first grade. For example ~ leaving kindergarten and entering first grade or leaving first grade and going to second grade. This course adheres to a syllabus to teach concepts and reinforce foundational skills at the first grade level. You are invited to enroll in the other 1:1 Writing Tutoring courses that is open to all grade levels and will customize your writing needs. Please message with questions. Thank you. What your child should be able to do: This class is best for beginners and writers in need of more foundational practice. Students should know how to write on the line. Students should also know how to form uppercase and lowercase letters. What parents need to do: 1. Remove the blur background on your Zoom so your child can show their writing work and receive teacher feedback and corrections, 2. provide support by entering on time, 3. supply your learner with a notebook and pencil and 4. avoid side conversations during the class session. All students will be guided and encouraged based on their personal writing ability. Learners will receive support through visual aids and examples to help them understand how the key parts of speech go together in writing (noun, verb, adjective). They will also be given teacher support for spelling/grammar checks through the Zoom chat box and whiteboard features. The overall target goal for your learner is to guide them to confidently write for an extended period of time. New content will be taught each week. Previous attendees will be reminded of the content already taught and provided with help to independently write. Newcomers will be supported with teacher examples and regularly receive attention to ensure understanding and comfort. Please ensure your learner has a lined notebook for this class and bring the same notebook for each class. Please feel free to message me with any questions. Thank you!
