Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 11
I want to share my love of reading with you! Do you struggle with understanding what you read? Do you have trouble recognizing letters or putting sounds together to create words? Let me help! It can be extremely frustrating to struggle with reading as you grow older, and I want to give you tools to improve your reading skills and decrease that frustration. I believe that learning and reading should be fun for all. Choose a time that works for you and let me know what you struggle with so I can help. If there is not a class time that fits your schedule, let me know what time works best for you! Students with and without disabilities are welcome. I can’t wait to read with you!

The first half of our session will consist of me getting to know you as a reader. I will assess your skills and see what you struggle with. Once we narrow this down, we will do some practices together and I can teach you ways to help yourself outside of our tutoring time. I'd love for you to come back for extra support on a regular basis!

This is a one time class but students can sign up for multiple sections to continue receiving support. Tutoring works best if continued over a longer period of time. Students will still benefit from a one time class as well! I am a special educator and welcome learners of all abilities, including those with Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD and more.

Hi everyone! My name is Emily Freda and I am so excited to be teaching on Outschool! I can't wait to share my love of reading and life skills with you! I graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. in Special Education and a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction. I currently teach special education in Virginia. For the last 3 years, I taught high school Reading and English, and now I am a self contained Autism teacher! I believe that learning should be fun, and that everyone deserves to learn! I am excited to welcome learners of all ages and abilities to my classes. Fun facts about me - my favorite color is yellow, I could eat pasta every day and not get tired of it, and I grew up in New Jersey!
