1:1 Private Math Tutor for Grades 3-8

During these sessions, we will have a one on one private tutoring session in which we will cover grade-level, standards-based math assignments/activities. The student will bring their math assignments or the tutor will provide an age-appropriate, standards-based math lesson. Nearpod may be used in order to further actively engage students and gamify learning. The lessons will follow an I do, we do, you do approach. They will start with a recap of the a specific concept or skill. After that, the tutor will demonstrate the steps to solve the problems. Collaboratively, the tutor and student will work through a few examples. In the end, the student will solve some problems on their own, and the tutor will provide feedback on their precision and grasp of the topic. The tutor may give follow up assignments to the student in order to reinforce concepts and assure confidence and mastery. Some Math Topics Include: 3rd Grade: Multiplication & Division, Word Problems, Area & Perimeter, Bar Graphs 4th Grade: Fractions and Decimals, Multiplying and Dividing Multi Digit numbers, Geometric Shapes, Angles, and Symmetry, Analyzing Data Using Line Plots and Tables, Working with Factors and Multiples 5th Grade: Operations with Decimals and Fractions, Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing Fractions, Exploring Volume and Measurement Conversions, Working with Coordinate Grids and Understanding Patterns, Solving Real-World Problems Using All Operations 6th Grade: Ratios and Proportions, Working with Positive and Negative Numbers, Solving Expressions and Equations, Interpreting and Constructing Statistical Data, Understanding the Concepts of Area, Surface Area, and Volume 7th Grade: Ratios and Proportional relationships, Solving Real-World Problems Involving Percentages, Simplifying Expressions and Solving Linear Equations, Working with Probability and Statistics, Understanding Geometric Concepts like Angles, Circles, and Areas of Shapes 8th Grade: Understanding and working with Real numbers, including Irrational numbers, Exploring the Properties of Exponents and Square Roots, Linear equations and Systems of Equations, Solving and Graphing Linear Functions and Inequalities, Analyzing and Interpreting Data--including Scatterplots and Correlation, Understanding Geometric concepts such as Congruence, Similarity, and the Pythagorean Theorem, Exploring Transformations and Symmetry, Working with Volume and Surface Area of 3D Shapes, Solving Multi-step word problems and Real-world applications
