Beginner - Advanced Level
Learn writing from a certified teacher! In this one-on-one writing class, students will enjoy learning all about the various types of writing, including creative, opinion, and expository formats. Specific topics will be determined based on the learner's own strengths and weaknesses, but may include parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, etc.), grammar, figures of speech like similes, metaphors, idioms, hyperbole, and others. We can explore writing poetry as well, based on the student's interest. Each class period will include some independent writing time. In addition, the best writers are avid readers, so we'll have some assigned reading as well. Specific books will be determined by student interest.
Learning Goals
Students will come to enjoy the writing process.
Students will learn to write various types of material, both fiction and non-fiction.

Supply List
Students should bring a notebook, pencil, and eraser, OR an electronic device to write on in each class period.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
