Assessment
Students will be assessed regularly.Class Experience
US Grade 1 - 12
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This 1:1 tutoring will be mostly learner driven. We will begin with an assessment of strengths in general. Then follow up with engaging activities to strengthen understanding that is appropriate for your child's age and grade level. My goal is to personalize our activities to make them engaging for your child so that they are excited about learning. I can adapt whichever curriculum you are currently using for these sessions. If access to those materials are unavailable, I will use grade-level standards as a starting point to find and create lessons and materials targeted to your learners strengths and interests. Possible topics include: Numbers and Operations in Base 10 (Place Value, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division) Numbers and Operations - Fractions (Equivalent Fractions, Comparing and Ordering, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division) Operations and Algebraic Thinking (Distributive Property, Commutative Property, Associative Property) Problem Solving (Word Problems) Measurement, Data, and Statistics (Elementary through High School) Ratios and Proportions (Pre-Algebra) Expressions and Equations (Pre-Algebra) Algebra 1 Geometry (Elementary through High School) If your learner has an IEP, please send me a message after enrolling with their IEP goals (that we will work on together). As a certified special education teacher, I have the expertise to teach classes that specifically support neurodiverse learners. I have Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Childhood and Special education. I also develop K-12 math and ELA text books for various educational publishers.
