This class is designed to provide focused instruction on the area of need of the individual child. These areas include prewriting, fine motor, and handwriting skills. I welcome children of all abilities.

This class is customized to the individual needs of your child. Once enrolled in this class, you will receive a short questionnaire to help you communicate the areas you would like for me to focus on. It will also ask you to provide some basic information about your child’s motivators (favorite shows, games, activities, etc.) so that I can create activities that are motivating and unique to your child. If additional suggestions are recommended, I will provide feedback after completion of the class. DISCLOSURE: I am an Occupational Therapist. However, these classes are not to be considered occupational therapy treatment sessions and should not take the place of therapeutic interventions. I base my instruction on the Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum but also use my own techniques that I have acquired over my 20 years of working directly with students.
Learning Goals
The student will demonstrate improvement in the specific area of concern and techniques on ways to continue to improve.

Supply List
Upon enrollment, you will receive a questionnaire to help us decide what we are going to be working on. It will also ask for specific motivators for your child (favorite show, character, area of interest, etc.) so that I can tailor activities specifically to your child. Materials for this class will vary depending on your child’s needs. Basic supplies to have on hand include unlined paper, crayons, markers, small paintbrush, scissors, salt, shaving cream, mat/tray/plate, dry erase marker board, dry erase markers and eraser. Additional templates will be provided depending on your child’s needs. The ability to print materials is very helpful, but not required. Please let me know if you do not have access to a printer.
