This course is taught by a veteran Fashion Designer, who worked in the industry for many years in the heart of NYC. I teach from both experience and education. I'd love to assist you in your design journey! This is a live class. We will work on the student's individual needs to get started or continue their Fashion Design journey! We will learn and execute simple ways to get our ideas across with techniques used in the Fashion industry. Students should have some basic knowledge of a standard Fashion Figure (Croquis) prior to this class. If not, we will create a lesson to include the creation of an industry standard fashion form, the Croquis. I will supply fashion figures in different poses if students wish to use the same ones as me during our lessons. Feel free to use any movement figures of choice. Prior to our scheduled class time, students will make a list of skills, techniques, etc. to be included in the lesson. I teach levels from Beginner to Intermediate. Advanced lessons will be offered based on teacher recommendation, after working with the student. Students may work Traditionally (Pencil/paper) or Digitally (on a tablet) Due to learner demand, I will be using Procreate to draw digitally. The Fashion Design Industry has transformed to mostly digital art, so it's a good practice to know both. Traditional Art will never go out of style! Traditional Art: Please have the Fashion Croquis of choice (a Movement pose is best for this class) printed and ready to use. I will supply if needed. pencil eraser fine tip black marker (like Copic, Micron, etc.) wide nib markers (color variety of your choice)...Alcohol based markers are used in the industry (Prismacolor, Copic, Ohuhu, etc) colored pencils (we use these to coordinate with markers for shading) OPTIONS: In order to sketch over your base Croquis, Marker paper is best. I use Bienfang Graphics 360 Translucent marker paper (you can use any translucent marker paper with alcohol markers) White gel ink pen is great for tiny highlights Digital Art: Program/App of choice (I will use Procreate on an iPad) Stylus, fully charged! Croquis saved as a photo or imported into a layer. *If working digitally, some knowledge of using layers will be helpful, as there is no time set for the program basics*
