I have taught math for over 16 years. I taught Math Intervention to struggling learners for 12 of those 16 years. I incorporate visual learning with practice and repetition to ensure understanding of a topic before moving on to the next. My teaching style is very straightforward without a lot of bells and whistles. We will have 1:1 instruction with modeling, practice and independent practice. I also try to incorporate games where possible especially with younger children to hold their interest. I use Singapore Dimensions Math curriculum in the grade level we determine your child is needing. If you need a specific topic covered we can also focus on specific topics by request so we do not have to go in the order provided by the curriculum. In general, we work through skills quickly if they are known skills and spend more time on the skills that aren't as fluent.
