In this class, students will learn essential skills to boost confidence, lower anxiety levels, and overcome self-doubt. Topics covered include understanding confidence, overcoming self-doubt, overcoming anxiety, setting boundaries, and cultivating self-compassion.

The class is structured to include a mix of interactive activities, discussions, and goal-setting exercises. Teaching methods include guided discussions, role-playing scenarios, mindfulness exercises, and goal-setting sessions. My teaching style is supportive, encouraging, and engaging, with a focus on student participation and empowerment.

Please note: Coaching is different from therapy. While coaching focuses on personal growth and skill-building, therapy delves into deeper emotional issues and mental health concerns. For example, a coaching session may help a teen develop strategies to boost confidence in social situations, while therapy may address underlying anxiety disorders. This class is not a substitute for therapy, and students with significant mental health concerns should seek appropriate professional help.

Here are two examples of 1:1 confidence coaching sessions for teens:

Overcoming Social Anxiety:
During this session, I'll work with the teen to address their social anxiety and build confidence in social settings. We'll start by discussing specific situations that trigger their anxiety, such as meeting new people or speaking up in class. Through role-playing exercises and positive reinforcement, we'll practice effective communication skills, assertiveness, and relaxation techniques to manage anxiety symptoms. By the end of the session, the teen will have a toolkit of strategies to navigate social situations with greater ease and confidence.

Setting Academic Goals:
In this session, we'll focus on setting and achieving academic goals to boost the teen's confidence in their academic abilities. We'll begin by identifying specific academic challenges or areas where they feel less confident, such as test-taking or time management. Together, we'll set SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound) and develop a personalized action plan to address these challenges. Throughout the session, I'll provide guidance, support, and accountability to help the teen stay motivated and on track towards achieving their academic goals. By the end of the session, the teen will feel more empowered and confident in their ability to succeed academically.
