Class Experience
This class is all about creating curriculum that is most beneficial to YOU, integrating active, arts-based learning methods like music, movement, drama, and visual arts! Using these methods not only makes learning fun but also highly effective as it combines different modalities such as audio, visual, and kinesthetic. I strongly believe that this approach helps students build confidence, enhance their creativity, and improve their overall communication skills. [Why Music in language learning?] - Creates a fun and engaging learning environment - Enhances sensitivity towards the rhythm and musicality of the language - Improves auditory skills and pronunciation [Why Movement in language learning?] - Reduces anxiety and stress associated with learning a language - Promotes kinesthetic learning - Boosts concentration and memory [Why Drama in language learning?] - Makes learning more memorable by involving emotions and characterizations - Puts language into context for better understanding - Helps students learn better ways of expressing themselves verbally and non-verbally I look forward to sharing my love of language and the arts with you 😊! ✨COUPON for FREE First Session✨ +----------------------------+ | NAKAMA1030 | +----------------------------+

Teacher expertise and credentials
I was born and raised in Shizuoka, Japan, on the foot of beautiful Mt. Fuji. After getting my bachelor's degree in Spanish and ESL teaching license from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, I got my acting training at Foothill Theatre Conservatory in San Francisco Bay Area. While performing in theatre productions, I've been teaching languages and musical theatre classes for a wide range of age groups- from preschoolers to high school students.
In my language teaching, I love incorporating music, movement, and drama. Using these methods not only makes learning fun but also highly effective as it combines different modalities such as audio, visual, and kinesthetic. I strongly believe that this approach helps students build confidence, enhance their creativity, and improve their overall communication skills.
As my hobby, I've been learning Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, Hawaiian, and ASL (American Sign Language). I love learning different languages and cultures because it enriches my life with brand new perspectives. Looking at my own culture from the outside has helped me realize and embrace just how unique I am, but has also shown how similar I am to everyone else no matter their language or background. Ultimately, it's that kind of discovery I want all learners to experience with my class.
