Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Beginner - Advanced Level
Want some one-on-one help with your academic or creative writing? You've come to the right place. Got a literary analysis essay due? No problem! Short story giving you woes? Let's sort it out together. Want some feedback on your college essay? We can do that too. We'll dive into the writing process together, asking and answering questions about what will make your writing shine.

I have experience working with reluctant writers as well as advanced placement learners and enjoy working with learners at all phases of the writing process.

What this class includes: A one-hour tutoring lesson that includes a real-time review of the learner's writing and feedback during that hour's time. This is for writing up to 1200 words. Once you have registered, there will be a form to help me understand your learner's specific needs. Please note: this does not include any additional feedback after our session is over. I will, however, read your learner's writing before, so I can make notes and am prepared to give useful feedback. I am happy to create a custom section priced to include more extensive feedback after class time; if you're interested in that please let me know in advance as this cannot be added later.

Some of my specialties include:

Academic writing
- Narrative and literary analysis essays (middle school and high school level)
- Research papers on the following subjects (literature, theater, and film/media)
- AP Literature and Composition preparation and practice exams

Creative writing
- Flash fiction
- Short stories
- Novels (of any length)

Please note: I do not offer private lessons for the following:
- Blog and travel writing
- Academic essays or research papers in subjects other than English, theatre, or film
- Poetry, songwriting, or graphic novels
- Autobiographies, biographies, or memoirs

Preparing for our session:
+ You'll fill out a form with details on how I can help you meet your writing goals.
+ I'll post any preparation work you might need to do before we meet.
+ I will create a plan/schedule for our time together that addresses your goals and post it in the classroom.
+ We'll meet and get to work!

Questions? Message me and I'd be happy to find a solution that works for your learner.

Supply List
Learners will be responsible to provide any writing materials they need (prompts, instructions, etc) before we meet. For private lessons, I require students to create a shared Google doc that we can both see in real-time and annotate together.
