This multiday class is perfect for beginner coders and programmers. We explore how coding is used to program games as we problem solve, follow instructions and think critically to solve coding challenges with themed such as Minecraft.

Description

Class Experience

Each week students will learn, try, apply and connect with coding. Students will learn coding and programming skills such as how to use Commands, Functions, Loops and Variables. Each lesson will have a new set of challenges based on a theme. 
We will be using a website call code.org to complete these challenges. Students do not need to download any software or have any accounts to complete these classes. I will send students the link to each challenge during each class.

I am a qualified elementary teacher with 6 years of classroom experience. I have been a leader in teaching technology in schools during this time. This lesson has been taken directly from my classroom experience.

We will be using Code.org during this lesson. Students can create a login for this website, but it is not essential.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Code.org

2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
