This is my favorite! This is my goal to get a student this far. We will talk about how connecting to a book is important. It is easier to comprehend a book/story when you can connect to it on another level. We will have discussion, game or activity, and book share. There is optional homework
  • I want to help students remember what they have read. I want to help them with their reading comprehension. I would love if they could make it passed just reading comprehension but emotional connection to the story. What lessons can they learn.

Details: I will offer homework after each class to strength that reading comprehension tip that we talked about in class. I would enjoy if your student shared their homework with me but it is optional. I can answer any of the student or parent's questions or concerns.
They do need to be able to be able to read. This class will be to hard for beginner readers. They don't have to be proficient readers. If you have questions please let me know. I made the class easy to understand and participate in.
It would be very HELPFUL if your student bring with them a book that they are assigned to read or want to read.

Notebook would be helpful to take notes (optional) or participate in the games.

I really hope your student knows how to type in chat and knows how to message direct messages. Some of the games I want to do require me talking to the student by direct message. The other students can't know what we are talking about until revealed in the game for example "Apples to Apples" or word games.

Let me know if there are questions or concerns.
The books I mostly refer too in discussions or games are on the public domain. We might talk about Harry Potter or Charlotte's Web or other books in class. We aren't reading them at this time.
