In this camp, learners will read, discuss, & appreciate the works of five female authors, focusing on comprehension, reader response connections, and literary analysis (poems & short stories). This is a faster-paced, advanced reading class.

I have a B.S. in English Education and English Literature with over ten years of classroom teaching experience. As a certified teacher, I have led and facilitated scores of student discussions, both academic and conversational. I structure all class discussions with intention in the following ways: *aligning the activity to speaking and listening standards *reviewing clear expectations for respectful and productive discourse *helping students set conversation goals and reflect for improvement *providing supports (scaffolds) for learners to succeed
