Beginner - Advanced Level
Students will be taught formal and creative writing skills including imagery, expanding details, responding to prompts, and summarizing. Students will also be taught more about expanding vocabulary while writing and how to write dialogue. The session will start with a fun activity or game designed to engage the learner. - Students will be able to write a 3-5 paragraph essay with details. Students will be able to respond correctly to various types of prompts. Students will be able to summarize thoughts.

This class is designed so that students who are dyslexic will benefit especially from the structured strategies each week. Students who are ASD or ADHD might benefit from the schedule which allows for short breaks.
Students will need a writing notebook, binder, or folder with writing utensils.
All topics will be age-appropriate and secular as per Outschool policy. Teacher incorporates diversity in prompts and examples often.
