Class Experience

This 1-on-1 class is designed for learners of all levels, whether a beginner taking the first steps into the world of music or a more advanced player looking to refine skills and explore new techniques. These personalized lessons are tailored to each individual's specific goals, interests, and skill levels, providing a focused and customized learning experience.

These one-on-one ukulele lessons can address a wide range of topics, including, but not limited to:

 - Reading Chord Charts and Playing Chords: Learn how to read chord charts and master the art of playing chords, allowing you to accompany songs with confidence.
 - Strumming Techniques: Explore various strumming techniques to enhance rhythm and musicality on the ukulele.
 - Reading Tablature and Traditional Notation: Gain proficiency in reading both tablature and traditional musical notation specific to the ukulele.
 - Rhythmic Figures: Dive into rhythmic figures and patterns to improve the sense of timing and groove.
 - Playing Melodies: Develop melody-playing skills on the ukulele, enabling the learner to play tunes, licks, and lead parts.
 - Proper Playing Position: Receive guidance on maintaining the correct playing position for improved comfort and technique on the ukulele.

PARENTS: It is key that the learner's instrument is in tune. The tuning of the instrument is fundamental to feedback to the student on the accuracy of their playing and consequently, their skill development. Parents should commit to supporting students in tuning the instrument until the students are old enough and skilled enough to be able to tune their instrument independently. Instruments should be checked regularly for tuning adjustments.
Learning Goals
Students will have the opportunity to learn to play chords, recognize chord symbols, read tablature and notation, play melodic lines and accompany songs using strummed chords.
