Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
Does your learner have an important interview coming up?

For a college/school place, or are they preparing to be questioned for an award, badge, leadership opportunity, sport, Forensic Speech competition, TV/radio show, newspaper report, podcast, or are they getting ready for a job interview?

Each class will start with a warm-up that learners can take away and then choose their favorite to use on their 'big day'. This helps improve their articulation, enunciation, and pronunciation. Getting them ready for speaking their best.

Using mock ideas, topics, and questions we will prepare each week leading up to the interview. Learning not only WHAT to say, but HOW to say it, with ways to avoid those filler words. We'll work on our tone, intonation, and techniques to sound more engaging/interesting/interested and be able to express yourself in a clearer way.

If this is an interview format where you will be seen we will also be able to work on your non-verbal communication (including areas that you might not realize you are communicating with, like facial expressions, body language and posture, and looking at things to avoid, such as fidgeting and looking away).

Previous learners who have prepared with me have gone on to secure places in private and independent schools, including one ESL learner who got 2 separate places at 2 highly prestigious independent schools in a country they don't even live in yet, another learner built up to delivering more confident podcast, TV, and news interviews, one successfully achieved a leadership opportunity, and another a badge they were working towards. I have also had a Forensic Speech candidate move from 4th place to 2nd and I've helped many learners prepare for their upcoming media and job interviews.
Learning Goals
Learners will prepare for their upcoming interview learning WHAT to say and HOW to say it. Building their confidence and self-expression skills in the process.
