1-2 hours per week. Students will have simple homework each week to practice their piano pieces. This helps reinforce what we’ve learned in class and build confidence with each song. Regular practice at home is key to steady progress and will make lessons even more enjoyable!Assessment
Students will receive regular assessments to see how their piano performance is progressing. These are friendly check-ins to celebrate achievements and identify areas for growth. Each assessment will help guide our lessons to keep them motivated and on track with their musical goals.Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
In my beginner piano class using the Piano Adventures series, students will learn foundational piano skills, including proper hand positioning, reading music, basic rhythm, and expressive playing. We’ll cover topics such as note recognition, simple melodies, chords, and gradually build up to playing beginner-level pieces. Each lesson will be structured around warm-up exercises, learning new concepts, and practicing songs, with time for both instruction and hands-on playing. My teaching approach is interactive and supportive—I aim to make lessons fun and engaging! I encourage plenty of student interaction, where they’ll have the chance to ask questions, play their pieces, and receive feedback. We may also use occasional visual aids like slides or short video clips to illustrate musical concepts, but the primary focus is hands-on learning at the piano. My goal is to foster a positive environment where students feel motivated, confident, and excited to progress in their piano journey.
Learning Goals
Develop Basic Keyboard Skills: Students will learn foundational skills such as correct hand positioning, finger numbers, and keyboard awareness to help them navigate the piano with ease.
Read Simple Music Notation: Students will understand basic music notation, including recognizing notes on the staff, understanding rhythm values, and identifying symbols for dynamics and articulation.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Teacher and Member of the National Federation of Music Clubs:
For over ten years, I have organized music competitions with the National Federation of Music Clubs, where students prepare pieces to be judged and earn awards. Some of my students have worked for years to achieve trophies and recognition through this program.
Music Instructor at Christy Fletcher Music:
I have been teaching music for over 19 years, specializing in piano, voice, and some violin. My students range from children as young as five to adults. My primary goal is to help students not only master their instruments but also develop their character. I achieve this by organizing recitals, offering monthly performance opportunities at nursing homes, and encouraging participation in music festivals.
