Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
Vermont Teaching Certificate in Music/Theater/Arts
I have two degrees in flute performance, have performed on the flute professionally around the world, and I have studied with world renowned flutists and pedagogues. I have training in Alexander technique and Body Mapping, and I use that training to support flutists in developing a free and fluid technique that will help them achieve success and avoid overuse injury. I also have experience supporting more experienced flutists in releasing bad habits and refining their physical habits. This can allow people to recovery from injury and achieve more freedom and control in their playing. Another area of specialty is helping teenagers deal with performance anxiety, a frequent challenge for students in that age group.
I have experience with and professional development in creating neuroaffirming learning experiences, and welcome neurodivergent learners to my studio.
