In this one time class students will meet a variety of live animals and we will discuss if they are venomous or poisonous, or neither. There are many animals that are venomous that we may encounter in our daily lives. Did you know that your average garter snake is dangerous? But, is it venomous or poisonous? That is something we will talk about in this class, how toxins are delivered makes it either venomous or poisonous. I will also introduce you to an animal that has scientists very excited...
Students will gain knowledge of the difference between venom and poison. They will also gain a better understanding about many animals deemed "dangerous" because they are venomous.
