Shared Reading is an interactive reading experience that occurs when students join in or share the reading of a book or other text while guided and supported by a teacher. I am a certified elementary school teacher for grades K-6. I taught first grade for 6 years. I have been an elementary school librarian in a preschool-grade 2 school for 3 years. I have taught many children how to read and have used these shared reading strategies in my lessons for 10 years.
