Together we will run through some basic foundations of the Universe, answering questions about black holes, finding exoplanets using star light, and seeking out signs of life! As we do so we will slowly be building our aliens, custom to the world we discover. Each student will draw theirs out, adding new forms to their creatures as they learn about earth-bound adaptations. Students will improve their understanding of astronomy and ecology, and will be able to build more realistic aliens for their sci-fi worlds.
I have a B.A. in Biology with a focus in Ecology & Conservation from Boston University, and took multiple college level courses in astronomy. Similar lessons to this one have been taught to middle schoolers and high schoolers in my career as a teacher.
Paper, pencil, and any other drawing supplies that you wish! Pets are welcome on camera, and may be subject to biological discussion!
