For this practice assignment, students will practice reading a text, organizing their ideas, and (using the R.A.C.E.S. strategy) writing a well-structured paragraph. This should take students no more than 30 minutes to complete; however, this differs among students. Students will submit their paragraph through a Google Form. Video instructions are included to walk students through step-by-step on how to complete the assignment and submit the assignment, as well.評估
Students will receive a detailed "feedback report". I will review each student's work and send each student a report that will recognize their strengths and the areas for suggested improvement. Detailed feedback will be given to help students improve on the task. In this class, students will learn how to write a well-structured paragraph using an easy to remember strategy- the R.A.C.E.S. strategy. Through an interactive Google Slides presentation, students will absorb these steps. The class will begin with a lecture-based format. Students will have the opportunity to answer questions throughout the lecture (through the chat or out loud) and ask questions that they may have, as well. Students will complete an interactive activity where they "put together the paragraph puzzle" using our newly learned strategy. Students can work with other classmates or independently, if they wish. Students will be given a variety of resources to use when practicing the R.A.C.E.S. strategy. Video clips are also included to help students gain a better understanding of the task. A demonstration video (think aloud) will be provided. Students will have access to the class Google Site link where they will find everything for this class grouped together in one place.

Students will be given access to digital materials through Google Slides. I will provide students with a link that will allow students to create their own copy of the class presentation. They can edit their copy in anyway they like. Video clip instructions are provided to help students access helpful resources, if needed. Students will submit their practice paragraphs through a Google Form. Note- some learners prefer tangible (paper) materials. I will also upload a PDF copy of the class materials for students who choose to print a paper copy. Hence, both digital and paper copy materials will be available.
