寫作工具箱：展示，而不是講述！

This class will be one of several in a writing series of lessons for young writers. If you think your child's writing is average or lacking creativity, one of my writing series classes will help brighten and dazzle up their writing. This class is geared towards upper elementary level writing students. Learners should have a basic sense of sentence structure, conventions, and organizing ideas for writing. 'Show, Don't Tell' is not intended for writers that are just beginning to write. 

'Show, Don't Tell' means to describe something for your readers instead of telling them something too obvious. This target writing skill will be taught through modeling and thinking aloud. I will give the learners strategies to help them paint a picture for their reader instead of just boringly listing obvious statements. 

After seeing two writing models done by the teacher, I will lead a guided/shared writing example using this target writing skill. Learners will participate in a discussion about this strategy and offer writing ideas. 

Finally, students will have their own independent practice opportunity. Learners will have the opportunity to share their writing during class, if they would like.
