每週 1-2 小時. Writers are encouraged to work on their projects outside of class as they feel inspired. However, checking in and expanding on their work every day for at least 10 minutes is a good habit to get into. Writers must bring their ideas and something to share to each class meeting (1-2 pages for each class session is recommended). Writers may also set aside time to go through the modules between classes. They are also welcome to use the co-working space to do them.評估
Learners assess their own progress by setting their own writing goals for their projects and naming what it is they accomplished from week to week.我們無法翻譯此文,請刷新頁面並再試一次。

This class is a space for young writers to delve deeper into their creative writing projects, whether they are working on a novel, series, screenplay, TV show, card or video game, comic book, etc. The exploration of form is encouraged! Here young writers learn how to: - Manage their creative writing projects and get their ideas out - Focus on ONE project for an extended period of time - Give specific, direct, and supportive feedback - Work collaboratively with others (as writing can often be an isolating activity) - Effectively use new techniques and strategies for bringing their writing visions onto the page - Explore their own creative process - Present their work with confidence Topics* covered over the 12 weeks are: The Five Elements of Literature: plot, character, conflict, setting, and theme Revising, Editing, and Publishing *These can also shift per the needs/curiosities of the writers themselves. During this 3 month workshop, writers meet twice per week, with one 1 week break as needed by myself and the writers. Those weeks are structured as follows: - Day 1 of the week is used as a “co-writing hour.” This means that writers come to class with a piece of their project they would like to work on, be it plans, drafts, concept art...whatever their project needs. They will have the hour to work on it without interruption. Writers may also ask for guidance and support from myself and the others during the co-writing time. This time is also used to discuss any questions that came up during the modules (see below). - Day 2 of the week is used as a feedback session. Writers will take turns to informally present their work/writing or any questions they may have around their projects for the week. Writers receive supportive feedback and/or guidance they can take back with them to revise/edit/improve their writing. - The modules listed above (The Five Elements of Literature and Revising, Editing and Publishing) appear as video lectures via Google Drive with exercises and prompts writers can refer to and use between classes as they feel they need. Questions or discussion topics around these modules can be brought to the co-writing hour. - Writers are welcome to comment and collaborate between classes via the Outschool classroom. This class runs seasonally throughout the year. So if you can't catch it this season, you can always check back for the next one (or keep coming back as many times as you need :)) The cycles are as follows: January - March April - June July - September October - December
學習目標
Students will learn how to work with:
- The Five Elements of Literature (plot, character, conflict, setting, and theme)
- Revising, Editing, and Publishing (these are broad brushstroke lessons, as each of these topics is worth a separate course)
They will walk away with their own writing techniques and strategies for solving writing problems. Many writers leave the class feeling more confident in their writing skills, sharing their work, and giving feedback to other writers. The ultimate goal is to learn to enjoy the process of creating, because, as writers, this is a lifelong endeavor!

父母的引導和規範
While I do not censor the writers' topics, some violence, reference to weapons, war, or other sensitive content may come up, I ask that if this is the case, that writers submit their writing at least 24 hour beforehand to me and I can assess whether it is something they can share. If the writing is appropriate, I will ask the writer to provide a trigger warning so that others in the group may opt out of reading/listening.
供應清單
Access to the Google Suite, specifically Google Docs is highly recommended, though not necessary. Additionally I will provide slides during class with prompts and use these as handouts for learners to keep.
