Welcome to writing lessons with me, Ms. Tori! I've written and published 9 novels and helped hundreds of kids strengthen their writing skills. This self-paced class, which includes quick + fun videos, introduces learners to my TOP 5 lessons that have the biggest impact on improved writing skills. These pre-recorded lessons will better both fiction and non-fiction writing skills, and--bonus!--these lessons will improve your writing whether you're a young, developing writer or a talented, budding author. Each of my lessons welcomes learners to try the writing drills on their own, so please have a notebook and pencil handy. If you'd like feedback, please message me shared .doc link that includes your drills. I will respond with inline edits on the document within 5 days. Seeking feedback is completely optional. A reminder that this is a self-paced learning course with no live meetings where students progress at their own pace. Most learners complete this course within 1-2 weeks. See syllabus below for a detailed description of each lesson. Let's write!
學習目標
By the end of this course, writers will be more confident when cutting words to tighten their prose, they'll be better equipped to start their fiction and nonfiction writing like a pro, and they'll have a stronger grasp on how to write vividly and descriptively for their readers.

課 2:
Make it Vivid
In our second lesson, we'll explore why making our writing *vivid* is important, what exactly "vivid" means, and how (and how often!) to make writing more vivid.
課 3:
X-Started
In our third lesson, we'll explore how easy it is to "X" the word "started." This easy, simple trick will instantly tighten your writing and make it read more professional.
課 4:
Opening Sentence
In our fourth lesson, we'll learn exactly how to open an essay or piece of fiction. It's much different than developing writers usually expect. And bonus--it's easier!

Howdy! I’m a bestselling author of nine novels under the name, Victoria Scott. My books have been nominated for numerous prestigious awards, and have been translated and sold in 14 counties. I have a true passion for the English language, and love helping kids write with confidence.
I have a master's degree in marketing and am the CEO + founder of Scribbler, a company that helps aspiring authors finish their novels. I am also the founder of Onword, a company that helps young adults become stronger writers, and gain admittance into elite private schools and summer programs. My approach to working as a writer, entrepreneur, and tutor is to inject fun into the process–that’s where the progress happens.
