This class will develop learners' narrative writing skills and follows a Writer’s Workshop approach. This class meets 4 days(Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Each class will start with a Mini Lesson and will be followed by time for independent writing with teacher support. Monday-Introduction to Narrative Writing. What is a narrative? Students will brainstorm ideas for their own narratives and pick one topic. They will draw five pictures to show the beginning, middle and ending of...
Learners will: -Learn what a Narrative is. -Brainstorm writing topics. -Write a title. -Write a hook -Use proper writing conventions including uppercase letters, end punctuation and proper spacing. -Write 2 compound sentences -Add an adjective to make their writing more interesting. -Write a concluding "feeling" sentence. -Self-edit their writing for proper writing conventions and spelling. -Share their narrative aloud. -Give peer feedback.
