Welcome to the Young Writers' Workshop, an exciting online course designed specifically for budding young authors! This interactive and engaging workshop is tailored for early writers who are eager to explore the world of storytelling and unleash their creative potential. In this course, young writers will embark on a journey to develop their writing skills, ignite their imaginations, and bring their stories to life. Through a series of fun and interactive lessons, activities, and writing exercises, participants will learn the fundamentals of storytelling and gain confidence in expressing their ideas through words. Students will practice adding details to their sentences and look at an extensive descriptive word list provided by me. Together we will discover the power of words and learn how to choose the right words to create a vivid picture in our readers minds. We will be celebrating every child's success and showcase their creativity and accomplishments (if they choose to share). We encourage positive peer feedback. Breakdown of each class: 2-5 minute: Introductions, catch up, how was your week? 5-10 minute: Discussion of the weekly topic question. 10-15 minutes: Writing a journal and answering the weekly question. 5-10 minutes: Sharing their ideas at the end of class. Week 1: What made you smile today? Week 2: What is your favorite time of the day? Week 3: Tell me all about your happy place. Week 4: What is your favorite food? Week 5: Tell me about a cool event or place that you went to. Week 6: What is your favorite game? Week 7: What would the best day look like? Week 8: What do you like to do with your friends? Week 9: Tell me a time when you felt proud of yourself. Week 10: Learner's Choice By the end of this course, young writers will have developed a solid foundation in storytelling, enhanced their writing skills, and gained the confidence to express themselves through their words.
